If I would drink and go out; out with my crew
party; party all the time; yup that's what I do It was just as Matty was easing up to a red light just a stop before the parking lot of their destination when his cellphone rang. Side-eyeing his passenger; the lovely Miss Spencer Kelly; he smirked, "I'll give you one guess who that is. . ." With a sigh he dug into the pocket of his jacket and pulled out his cellphone-- nodding; he answered it, "Elias we-- I know. . . I know. . ." Again he heaved with a sigh and leaned back into the cushion of his Honda Accord and rolled his eyes-- actions he'd never do if he was face to face with the person on the other side of the phone, "We had to get ready and-- we as in I brought some people-- one of them being your brother. He-- I was just getting to that; Elias. No Ara's not here." With an irritated motion; he yanked his pack of cigarettes out of his pocket and then shoved one of the sticks between his lips. "That's partially what took us so fucking long-- it took him like two hours to drop her off. Yeah; I know it shouldn't take that long." Matty actually grinned when he peeked at the rearview mirror to see Elijah's reaction to him being sold out so easily. "The light turned green-- we'll see you in a second."
Before he pressed on the gas; he swapped out his cellphone for the lighter in his pocket and lit up his stogy. "He's lit already;" he paused to take a much needed drag; "but he sounds like he's in a good mood. I think we can make it out alive." Matty turned his head and winked at his female companion. Their luck continued and the next light stayed green enough for him to easily turn into the crowded parking lot. If a Jetta packed to the capacity with young drunk girls didn't leave a stall almost as soon as they got there; Matty would have considered valet. That really wasn't his style; but they were really pushing it with keeping Elias waiting as long as they did. Not to mention he wasn't in the best of moods when he took off into the world earlier and he was drinking. The fact that he wasn't angrily waiting for them in the parking lot was a small gift from God himself. "Elijah? Am I going to have to take your phone from you?" To show it was all in fun and their fight water under the bridge-- he laughed before getting out of the car.
He checked and double checked to make sure that his car was locked up-- it was his big purchase with his cut of the Warped Tour money; and he loved it more than any piece of ass he'd ever had. After shoving his keys in the jacket of his pocket he walked up to Spencer and nodded his head back towards the road, "You gotta wait for your friend Darren?" After their forty five minute talk they had while they sat in his car in front of the apartment complex inhabited by the Campbell Brothers; he had a new found outlook on Spencer Kelly. Sure; he still thought she was smoking hot and wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating cookies and leaving crumbs-- but there was a respect that was built; an understanding of why certain things happen in the world of Spencer. They were friends before; but the talk made them transcend to something a little more legit. Something that would make him defend her not only to get on her good side [and maybe one day in her bed]; but because she was a cool chick-- his friend.
"Are you even sure he's gonna show up? I mean; with the crazy shit that happened in the chatroom tonight. . ." Matty shrugged as he put his hand on the small of Spencer's back and guided her towards the entrance of the club. He didn't know the kid; but he did pick up that her friend didn't care to much for Elias Campbell-- and if Elias picked up on that; there would probably be a fight. And Spencer's friend seemed like a chill kid; Matty would hate to see the dudes face meet the top of a table or something. Even if he could hold his own in a fight; he'd have to watch out for Elias' homicidal tendencies. Thinking it over; them all coming out to kick it with a highly intoxicated Elias might not have been the smartest idea they'd ever had. But in their particular group; fun always outweighed smart.TAGGED :: the cboxXx addicts ! OUTFIT :: here ! COUNT :: 780 ! LYRICS :: `party all the time` by black eyed peas ! i promise this is not a test IT'S JUST, I WANT YOU TO BE SURE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Spencer wasn't going to lie; right now she was feeling an exhilarating combination of incredible nervousness and great excitement. Why? Tonight had been, to say the least, dramatic. It wasn't really much of anything new, but it'd still got her blood boiling. Spencer never really planned out her nights, but she'd imagined several ways this night could've ended.
Sitting in the passenger seat of Matty's car with Elijah in the back on their way to Sputnik--where Devin would meet them and where none other than Elias Campbell already was--was not one of those imagined endings. But it was what was happening right then.
Spencer's mind had been drifting off until Matt's cell phone rang and he spoke up, bringing her back down to reality. She blinked before turning to look at him, raising an eyebrow to mask her surprise. "I'll give you one guess who that is..." he said and Spencer chuckled before looking away. As if she even had to think about it. She smirked when Matty said Elias' name and turned her head towards the window, pretending to be looking out of it so it didn't look like she was listening to the phone conversation as intently as she actually was.
Spencer, leaning back into the passenger seat with crossed arms, bit her bottom lip as she listened to Matt explain why they'd kept Elias waiting. She felt a small relief when Matt didn't name any names but then laughed at herself, wondering what she had to be so afraid of. Every time she tried to tell herself nothing, an image of Elias would pop into her head and she would think, Oh. Right.
It'd been kind of stupid of her to want to venture out to Sputnik, especially when she said she'd be spending the night at Devin's. Now not only was she walking straight into the lion's den (after fucking around with the lion too, no less), but she was bringing an innocent bystander in with her.
Gods, she was a horrible person.
Spencer blew out a sigh. She'd said she'd come out to party because she was in a party mood. Her expression and posture weren't exactly showing much of a party mood though. She fixed her face and sat a little straighter, thinking that she was actually excited. Well, she was, but for all the wrong reasons. She was excited to go to a bar with Devin, yes, and she was excited to go out with the gang too.
She was more excited however, to see Elias' face when she walked into Sputnik--with Devin.
Spencer paused her thoughts again when Matt put his cellphone away. She looked at him expectantly, fearing the worse; she'd only been half listening to the conversation. She was worried Elias knew she was coming. It wouldn't be surprising; he was like a superhuman devil. He probably had a sixth sense for shit like that.
"He's lit already," Matty told her and Spencer laughed. "But he sounds like he's in a good mood. I think we can make it out alive." Spencer grinned; she liked this news.
"Not surprising," she chuckled, shaking her head. She meant it playfully really. "If I were him, I'd be beelining for the bar too." As if that needed to be said. A huge part of the reason Spencer was even out tonight was because she needed a drink. Or two. Or five. Spencer laughed at Matty's wink and shook her head at him too. 'It's my personal opinion that just the right amount of alcohol can bring out the best in people," Spencer continued, smirking.
When they finally pulled into a spot in the parking lot, Spencer was more than ready to beeline for the bar. Spencer was the first one out of the car, feeling the strange need to stretch her limbs. She pulled on the strap of her purse as she looked around the parking lot eagerly, adjusting her hats so it wasn't totally in her eyes. She wasn't really looking for anybody--or so she told herself.
"You gotta wait for your friend Darren?" Matty asked from beside her. Spencer hadn't even noticed he got out of the car. Where was her mind tonight? She turned towards him and rolled her eyes. "You're cute," she said. "But Devin will be fine. He knows how to get here. He can just text me," she said with a smile and a shrug. Spencer nervously went through her purse to get her phone, checking for any messages. None.
Well, at least she still had Matty, right?
"Are you even sure he's gonna show up? I mean; with the crazy shit that happened in the chatroom tonight..." Spencer's face fell; she'd been thinking about that. Luckily, it wouldn't be like Devin to just abandon her last minute. At least, not without some kind of notification... Spencer instinctively looked down at her phone again. Still nada.
When Spencer felt Matty's hand on the small of her back she subconsciously leaned into the touch and allowed herself to be led to the entrance of the club. She walked silently with her head bowed. Part of her wanted to stay outside and wait for Devin, if only because of the effect it'd have on Elias if they walked into Sputnik together. At least, she hoped it'd affect Elias. She wanted some kind of response from him; anything to show that he actually...
Spencer didn't dare to complete that sentence. She was not about to go there with Elias Campbell. Whatever, she thought, shaking the thought from her mind. She was not going to complicate this night with relationships or what have you. That's what all her other nights were for. Tonight was all about boozing and being one of the guys--both things she liked immensely.
Maybe she'd get lucky and leave with someone tonight. On that thought, Spencer smiled as she made her way to the stairs that led to Sputnik's front door. She broke away from Matty and hid behind Elijah to make sure she was the last one to be seen coming in. As much as she wanted to see Elias' face, she was sure being the first one in would be too much.
The group filed into the bar and just going in made Spencer smile; she'd always loved the place. It took her all of ten seconds to spot Elias at the bar, but she couldn't really read his facial expression. All the same, she smirked--almost challengingly--and tipped her hat at him.
It was going to be one hell of a night.

Break me down
you got a lovely face His head hurt and he blamed it on the lighting in the bathroom. The girls bathroom. Why was he holding his phone? Oh yeah; Matty had called him. No. He had called Matty. And Elijah was coming. Without his prim and proper ass girlfriend. Best friend. Fuck buddy. Whatever. Elias laughed out loud and leaned back against the wall of the handicap toilet stall. There was a girl. She was pushing his jacket open and kissing on his neck. Who was she? All of sudden Elias was annoyed. She was making noises and grinding on him like it was doing something. And now her hands had found their way under his shirt and. . . "Get off me." He didn't give her time to respond; he just grabbed her wrist and sent her on her way-- across the stall. As he unlocked the door and walked out; he wiped his nose with the back of his hand-- he was having a crazy nasal drip from the coke him and the chick did right before he talked to Elijah. No. Matty. Elijah was coming though. Without Ara. Elias chuckled-- he was going to have to bring that up when he met up with them. Why was he still holding his phone? Oh yeah-- He needed to text Spencer. Elias stopped walking and just stood there in front of the sinks in the crowded vagina bathroom. Some broad that looked vaguely familiar gave him a dirty look as she walked past him. So he flipped her the bird and then opened his phone. Spencer. He needed to call her. Then he remembered. Fuck that bitch. " Yeah. Fuck that bitch." She was on some new shit. Some two-faced bullshit. Never before in his life had he been so. . . he didn't even know the word for it [other people would call it hurt-- but he wasn't other people. Some might argue that he isn't even a person]. One second she was all about him; per usual-- the next; he was talking about him like everyone else does and telling him to keep what they had [whatever it was] under wraps. Elias closed his phone and finally put it in his pocket. Fuck her. Finally he exited town estrogen and headed back into the bass pumping, floor thumping club and was a little shocked. How long was he in the bathroom?! There were at least twice the amount of people then before. Maybe not. But. . . it seemed like it. He shoved his hands in his pockets and looked at the crowd. Same old bullshit. Sluts grinding on each other to get guys riled up to ask them to dance-- only to get shut down. " Fuckin'. . .," he didn't even know where he was going with that-- he just shook his head and turned to head back upstairs. Better music; less people; quicker to get a drunk. Yup; you can't go wrong with being upstairs. " Jack Daniels-- spare me the coke and the ice." Upstairs. He had gone straight to the bar; barely making eye contact with anyone and had pulled his pack of cigarettes out. As an after thought; he considered doing a line of coke right there-- but then knew that Elijah would probably roll around on the ground screaming and wailing in horror when the cops pulled up to arrest him. His brother; Elijah; was always a good kid-- Elias was proud of him. Sometimes it made him want to puke all over the fucking place; but he was still proud of him. Elijah was their dad-- so giving; so agreeable. Elias was their mother-- selfish and restless. " Bitch." He stood there-- staring at the entrance suddenly feeling anxious. That God damned phone was burning a hole in his pocket. And then there was Matty. Elias stood up straight and grinned; putting his cigarette between his lips and clapping his hands together. And then there was Elijah. It actually made Elias excited to see his "Mini". He started walking towards them-- a huge smile on his face. And then there was. . . Spencer. And that fucking smirk. She had the nerve-- the gall-- to tip her hat at him. It took all the self control in his body not to grab that hat and send it sailing over her shoulder. His hazel eyes didn't move from her face; and didn't need to in order to know Matty and Elijah were probably paying very close attention to him. . . just in case. Smart choice. Elias could feel his blood warming in his veins. Only; he didn't know if it was anger, lust. Oh; what the hell. Why not-- he was indulgent. It was both.He moved past Matty and then Elijah and grabbed Spencer's bicep; turning her towards him-- then backing her into the nearest object. Elias waited no time pinning her against it; using his own body as the other book end. " Mm; look who showed up. Miss 'I'm gonna have my cake; and eat it too'!" Smiling softly he leans his face forward-- gently pressing his lips against hers and finishes his statement, " This bakery? It's fucking closed." Letting go of her arm like it's a dirty diaper; he turns towards his brother and friend-- opening his arms out, " Boys? Drinks on me. Hey," points to the drink the bartender had abandoned on the bartop, " that's mine!" TAGGED :: skanks & skeezers ! OUTFIT :: here ! COUNT :: 916 ! now when i caught myself I HAD TO STOP MYSELF - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Elijah knew that it was a good idea to come out with Matty and Elias. And Spencer. He knew it was best that he spend some time with his boys...and Spencer. (It's not like he minded her company or anything; he'd just been seeing a lot of her recently.) He'd gotten ready feeling guilty about fighting with Matty (for the actual fighting; not for what he said... Okay, that was a lie), but also dreading parting with Ara. Yes. dreading. It was a little dramatic, but if anybody asked, he'd just say he had separation anxiety. Truth be told, he was afraid that if he stayed away from her for too long, she'd find someone else to latch on to and their friendship would essentially become obsolete.
Of course he couldn't tell Ara this; she'd just giggle and tell him he was being silly. And he definitely couldn't tell his boys this; they'd just hit him and tell him he was being stupid. So he kept most of these Ara related worries and thoughts in his head. It was for the best, especially for tonight.
What he wasn't feeling so guilty about was the reason he'd kept Matty and Spencer waiting. When he'd gone to drop Ara off, he'd gotten a bit of a parting gift. He was sure that somewhere in the middle of kissing, Ara had tried to rip his dogtags off his neck, but the events were all a bit hazy for him. Not that it mattered; he'd gotten more than what he wanted. What he did remember very clearly was that he hadn't wanted to leave her again, and that she had been the one to politely remind him that Matty was waiting for him and that it probably wouldn't be the smartest idea to keep him for so long.
Elijah had to admit it to himself; he was thisclose to saying, "Fuck Matty," and continuing on with business as usual. But he couldn't afford to be a dick to one of his best friends again, so he'd sucked it up and left. So now Elijah was sitting in the backseat of Matty's car, both glad to be there and not. He knew Matt and Elias were probably proud and/or happy that he'd managed to detach himself from Ara for even just one night and while it was helping Elijah to see that he really had been blowing off his other friends, it also made him realize that he really enjoyed being with Ara a lot more than he thought he did. His cell was burning a hole in his pocket, but Elijah was sure that if he as much as motioned towards it, Matty would chop off his fingers. Not fun.
Still, it was almost painful for him to be away from Ara for so long. He thought that maybe if he just went out with the guys (and probably Spencer) more often, it would be less painful. But then that thought hurt him too. Was he really going to have to choose one or the other? Couldn't he have both?
Matt's cell phone began to ring and Elijah sighed. He tried to get his mind off of Ara and Matty's conversation with his older brother was a temporary distraction--until Ara was brought up. Elijah narrowed his eyes; he could only imagine what tone Elias had used in order for Matty to talk back to him that way. Elijah turned his glare onto Matty once his so-called best friend sold him out, not even bothering to cover for him even a little bit. Elijah gave him a sour but betrayed look; it wasn't his fault it was so hard to say goodbye to Ara.
But soon that part of the journey was over. Elijah was mostly quiet in the car but he didn't want to seem distant or antisocial. He was just...a little lost. He figured that once he'd had one or two drinks in him, he'd be fine. But he had to set a limit too, if he was planning on picking Ara up the next morning. He didn't tell the guys about that--they'd probably just make fun of him or get mad at him for it. Once they reached Sputnik, Matty asked if he'd have to take his phone from him. "Not tonight," Elijah laughed back, understanding that it was a joke. "It's all about the boys tonight." Elijah waited until he was the last one in the car and quickly slipped his cell phone out of his pocket. No messages, no missed calls, nothing. He frowned, but he supposed it was for the best; he didn't want Matty to kill him.
He left the car hoping the amount of time he'd spent in there hadn't seemed suspicious and stuffed his hands in his jeans pockets as his followed closely behind Matt and Spencer. It was colder outside than he remembered it being earlier, but that hardly mattered; they were going into the club now and by the time they came back out, they'd all probably be too numb to really feel the cold anyway.
It felt kind of weird to be out with his old buds again; Elijah felt different than he had the last time he'd hung around with them. It couldn't have been that long...but then again, maybe it had. All the same, it was as if Elijah was learning how to live his life all over again. As they neared the entrance to the club, Elijah realized he was feeling uncomfortable, but a good kind of uncomfortable. The kind he could get used to all over again.
And when they entered Sputnik, the lounge crawling with hipsters and college kids, and Elijah spotted Elias--whose face actually lit up--Elijah decided it was a feeling he definitely wanted to get used to all over again. Elias left the bar and was heading towards them when something in his demeanor drastically changed--Elijah could almost feel it himself. But what? Elias was looking straight at him...
Spencer, Elijah thought, looking over his shoulder (when had she gotten behind him?) at the girl who was boldly--stupidly--smirking at his brother like the cat who caught the canary. Elijah had almost totally forgotten she was with them; he'd been in his own little bubble for the most part. He'd also forgotten about Elias and Spencer's little spat in the chat room earlier that night; it seemed like such a common occurrence those days that it became white noise to him. He internally rolled his eyes; this was why girls weren't allowed to come on boys' nights out. If Ara couldn't be there, why could Spencer?
Elijah was willing to overlook that though. However it seemed that Elias wasn't. Elijah opened his mouth to greet his brother, but Elias went right by him and Matt, heading straight for Spencer. Elijah sighed and gave Matt a half-weary, half-worried look. The night had already begun, it seemed.
It was Elijah's personal policy to leave his brother's messes to his brother--unless there was a threat involved. He was a protector, not a fucking psychologist. So, trying to keep as chill as possible, he let Elias and Spencer carry on behind him and started to think about what drink he'd get...
Suddenly, Elias was between him and Matt, arms spread out invitingly and Spencer seemingly forgotten. Elijah knew it was only for the moment, but a moment was long enough. Elijah threw his own arm over his brother's shoulder and grinned at his friends; "To the bar then!" he exclaimed with a laugh. He made a mental note to start off with a Bacardi Gold and Cola; it felt like it was gonna be that kind of a night.
He took a moment to shoot Spencer a sympathetic look over his shoulder though. Still, it was the boys' night out.
No girls allowed.

Sparks fly
I hit the ground running As soon as they got in to the establishment; Matty got a weird vibe. That alone was strange. He wasn’t a ‘vibe’ and ‘aura’ kind of guy. However; there was certainly a vibe going on. It wasn’t a bad one; which was good- but he couldn’t actually claim it was a good one either. Things seemed louder, more intense in he and Elias’ home away from home that he lovingly called ‘Spudz’. It seemed like he stepped into one of those club scenes in a movie or something. Frankly; it was fucking weirding Matty out; true story. Usually when he got in there all he could think of was, “Where’s the booze? When is Elias’ gonna freak the fuck out and act like a crazy person? How am I going to keep us from getting arrested and WHAT; pray tell; is her name? Helloooo; pretty girl!” But now he was thinking something else; he was feeling anxious and wanted whatever it was to get a move on already so that he can move on with his night.
Whatever it was? Ha. He knew what it was. It was the presence of Spencer. The sexy lady added something new to their nights whenever she hung out. But tonight? Well; tonight Brooklyn’s resident psycho had, had enough of something or other that she did. Elias had gone out on the prowl and Matty; like a fucking idiot asshole; invited Spencer to come out with them. Matty wasn’t into drama and didn’t particularly like to see Spencer go through some of the insane shit storms that Elias seemed to enjoy whipping up every now and again; so he couldn’t even begin to wonder what the fuck he was thinking when he extended the invitation to the girl. It was like he knowingly signed he and her to the fucking electric chair or something. And now he wished he hadn’t been so generous with his invitation. Not because he didn’t want to hang out with Spencer; but because he didn’t want his throat slit because of Spencer.
Ignorantly he thought; maybe Elias would be so excited that his younger brother decided to finally put down the rich girl and come out with them; that he would look over the fact that Spencer [who was the reason he was pissed off and out drinking to begin with] was there. Or even if Elias wasn’t that excited; maybe the presence of Elijah would be a good thing because; if Elias would listen to anybody it would be his baby brother. His “Mini” as Elias liked to call Elijah. And when they found Elias- the way that dude lit up like a Christmas Tree when his eyes spotted the younger tattooed and pierced Campbell; you would have thought that maybe Matty’s far out thinking had actually been kind of on point- until Elias saw Spencer.
Matty closed his eyes and for a moment didn’t even turn around when Elias moved towards Spencer. He didn’t watch “Shark Week” he wasn’t into watching innocent animals get mauled by blood thirsty, vicious predators. Then he figured; maybe he should pay attention; you know; just in case Elijah needed help holding Elias down until a Priest got there to exorcize the Demons out of him. Inhaling deeply Matty turned around to face the spectacle and actually winced when he saw that Elias had her pinned in what one would think was a very sexual like stance. And as long as that person didn’t know Elias Campbell; they could be forgiven for their dumb mistake. It was obvious to those who had encountered him even once; that Elias’ was in attack mode. If Matty tried to interfere right now to help Miss Kelley; he’d literally get knocked the fuck out. He turned his head to examine Elijah’s reaction to gauge how concerned he should be. Of course; Elijah’s emotional ass seemed sadder about the situation than actually worried. Matty almost laughed- but from the corner of his eye he could see Elias approaching.
As Elias walked up to them; his attitude a total 180 from that he had just displayed to Spencer; Matty had to ask himself, ”Is this mother fucker a schizophrenic?” Sure he had seen Elias in action before; but this was by far the most drastic in attitude change Matty had witnessed to date. Blinking a little; Matty patted Elias on the back and nodded, “Yeah man; yeah. It’s totally time to line ‘em up and put ‘em down.” Again he looked up at Elijah; this time the younger Campbell looked as uncomfortable as Matty felt; which in turn made Matty want to get up and leave the club. Instead he let the boys walk off without him and turned to face Spencer [yup; it was bold- but he felt it had to be done].

can you feel your heartbeat racing ? CAN YOU TASTE THE FEAR IN HER SWEAT ? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - So yeah; her arrival did have an affect on Elias after all. A very obvious one, actually. He went from looking like he was actually happy for once to looking like he was about to split her in two--and not in a good way--in a matter of seconds. It wasn't exactly what Spencer had been hoping for. The surprise and obvious disgust--was that disgust?--were nice but also terribly frightening. In fact, the look Elias wore on his face fucking scared Spencer's smirk right off her lips.
Her face burned as he stared her down. How had she totally forgotten who she was messing with? This was fucking Elias Alexander Campbell; messing with him was like a death wish. Spencer swallowed the lump in her throat and tried to open her mouth to speak as Elias made his way toward her. Running through her mind were several catty things she could've said to stop him in his tracks, but also running through her mind were several different scenes of her death by his hands. Not pleasant.
She didn't even manage to get out a single syllable before Elias had her pinned against the wall, her back almost painfully pressed against the object behind her. Spencer let out a small gasp on impact, but her breath soon caught in her throat. His body against hers. Such a close proximity. Their faces. His fucking eyes--big weakness for her. He didn't know that though; did he? Oh fuck, Spencer thought miserably, trying to ignore the stirrings in her stomach. Why was he so fucking close to her? She attempted to narrow her eyes, internally daring him to do something. Rough me up, come on; I dare you, she thought. I'll probably enjoy it.
"Mm; look who showed up. Miss 'I'm gonna have my cake; and eat it too'!" When had Spencer started breathing so heavily? Her chest rose and fell like she was about to have an asthma attack. She kept thinking, kept trying to say something, anything, but then that smile of his killed any thoughts she'd had. As if that wasn't enough, he leaned in and pressed his lips so lightly against hers in what could barely be counted as a kiss. Spencer, stupid as she was, had tried to kiss him back, moving toward Elias even as he moved away from her.
It was too noticeable for her to pass of too. She squeezed her eyes shut and leaned back against the wall; what was she trying to prove again? "This bakery? It's fucking closed." Spencer tensed; her guard was weakened and her usual defenses--acting--weren't really working out for her. Fuck Elias.
But Spencer had to recompose herself and fast. Elias was walking away and she was not about to lose her last shred of dignity because he...turned her on or whatever. "That's okay; your buns were never hot enough for me anyway!" Spencer called after Elias as he walked away with Elijah. She was still pressed against the wall although nothing was holding her there anymore and finally she noticed this and couldn't move away fast enough.
Spencer barely noticed the sympathetic look Elijah gave her or heard whatever Elias was saying after that. She was too busy clenching her jaw and repeatedly mentally calling herself stupid.
“I am so sorry; Spence." Spencer's head shot up; Matty was still standing with her, looking every bit as sorry as he said he was. Elias and Elijah were already at the bar, but Matty had stayed behind. The gesture made her smile a little; she still had someone on her side. I don’t know what I was fucking thinking bringing you here. . .”
Her smile kind of flickered, but Spencer put on a brave face and shrugged. "It's no big; I practically begged you not to leave me behind anyway." She laughed; she'd forgotten how difficult Elias was and she'd tried to challenge him. Silly girl. She couldn't play such games when she was playing with the big boys. "You should go on with them," Spencer told Matty, waving in the general direction of the bar. "I'll catch up with you guys--with you later. I should stay here anyway. I have to wait up for Devin--"
FUCK! It was as if Spencer had some kind of internal whiplash. What the fuck had she been thinking? As if it wasn't enough that she'd basically invited herself on this outing, but she'd invited Devin too. Devin fucking De'Angelo. Boy was going to get torn apart.
"Fuck my life," Spencer moaned, burying her face in her hands. She took a deep breath and tried to recompose herself, forcing a smile at Matty. "I mean, no worries. I'll worry about that when it comes. You go off; I'll come by soon." Spencer hesitated for a moment before giving Matty a tight but short hug. "I came here to have fun and no one's gonna stop me from doing that," she grinned as she let him go. "I don't want to stop you from having a good time either."
Spencer glanced at the bar where it looked like Elias and Elijah were having a good moment or so. Suddenly, that audacious flame rose in her again and her brown eyes flashed with a dangerous mischief. "In fact...come on," she told Matty, grabbing for his hand and making her way toward the bar with him in tow. Like she said before, Devin would get there when he got there and would undoubtedly text her. So she had until that time to do as many reckless things as possible because once he arrived, she was dead for sure.
So into the lion's den she went.
Upon reaching where Elias and Elijah were seated at the bar, Spencer sat herself down on the empty bar stool next to Elijah and immediately started laughing at whatever was being said, which probably wasn't even funny. But she wanted her presence to be known--obnoxiously so, even. Spencer smiled brightly at the Campbell brothers before turning back to Matty and inviting him to sit next to her.
"Feels like a great night, right guys?" Spencer gushed, giggling as if she were already tipsy. She leaned over on the bar counter and batted her eyelashes at the bartender who was already coming their way anyway. "One Kiss in the Dark?" The bartender hesitated for a moment before asking Spencer for some I.D. She calmly went through her purse and presented to him her convincingly real fake I.D. that had yet to fail her even once; she didn't really use it that often though. Other people usually bought her drinks for her.
Once she got her I.D. back, Spencer settled down on the stool and turned towards Matty, mouthing an, "I'm sorry," at him. She was sorry for dragging him into the middle of her problems with a certain other boy, but after the talk they'd had in his car, Spencer was sure Matty would understand what she was doing and why more than anyone.
Including herself.

You might as well
choose to play the game Although he heard her comment about ‘buns’; he didn’t turn around and acknowledge her. Why? What she said was nothing serious. In fact; it made him want to laugh a little bit. At the same time he was a bit disappointed. Spencer; she was the girl who could get his fuse burning faster than anyone else; the girl that could lure him into a fight with ease- and that was the best she could come up with? Usually; they could go all night and then go all night. That couldn’t be it; could it? Some infantile retort about buns. No; that wasn’t the Spencer Kelley he knew. Maybe all that good kid high school shit had rubbed off on her. Jesus; he hoped not. He liked his sassy; spitfire Spencer. Not whatever this new hypocritical Spencer was that would condemn him; talk down to him and flat out ask him to keep what they did under wraps- and ask him that in front of other people no less. Apart of Elias wanted to turn around and respond just to keep it going; like old times. Instead; he just kept going and sat with his brother at the bar and let Matty do his normal damage control.
Matty was the closest thing he had to a best-friend now that the third point of their triangle; Elijah; had acquired a love life. It didn’t surprise him that Matty had brought Spencer with him; even know he knew damn well that the reason Elias was out getting shitfaced and about to have angry; angry sex with some random chick. One thing a lot of people both admired and hated about Matty was his “no petty bullshit” policy. It was like that dude knew the day he would die and was hellbent on not spending any moment of it dealing with ridiculous shit that everyone put up with in their everyday lives. Elias was kind of jealous of Matty’s ability to see beyond the drama each and every time it happened; but it also pissed him off when his lack of caring inadvertently started more drama.
This time it wasn’t too bad. This time he had his Mini; his little brother Elijah. The only mother fucker in the world that he openly admitted to loving. Naturally; Elias was the person who took the best and worst care of Elijah. Lately it was a love and hate relationship due to Elijah and his girlfriend’s unhealthy attachment to each other. Okay; maybe it wasn’t his girlfriend- but Elijah and Ara were the only two people in the world who didn’t think they were in this overly intense possessive/obsessive relationship together. But that didn’t matter now. What mattered was that Lijah was there! There without Ara and ready to drink. It was nothing short of a miracle and whatever Matty did to pull this off made the little Spencer intrusion forgiven. And when he sat down next to his Mini and heard him order the drink he use to get back when there was only the boys, the band and no fucking Ara LeBeaux. Reaching out he clapped a hand on his brother’s shoulder and grinned from ear to ear, “Elijah fucking Campbell! You look fucking miserable!” Elias laughed and fished his wallet out of his pocket. Working at a strip club; as a bouncer naturally; had been really working out lately. They got a cut of tips; depending on who you were Elias would let you in underage for a certain “under the table” fee [the most he got had been $100]; and on top of that hourly pay. It was the only job that he could look at tits; drink booze and smack people around for money! It was a dream come true for the older Campbell brother. “ Let’s get three shots of Patron; shall we! Me; you and Matty!” Moving his hand from Elijah’s shoulder he motions to the bartender that he wants three of something, “ Patron;” he yelled and then turned his attention back to Elijah. “ I appreciate you coming out; I mean-“ And before he could even finish it; there came Spencer; plopping her ass on a seat and laughing about God knows what. Elias didn’t even react- he just sat there for a moment; wondering how he felt about her forcing herself on them like that. He didn’t know how he felt but quickly; he knew how he’d react. The corner of his lip turned in a smirk and he chuckled a little. The bartender approached and Elias looked up; motioning with his hand; “ Go ahead and make four shots of Patron; dude. ” Then he motioned to Spencer to let him know that the fourth was for her; then he slid the credit card that he took out of his wallet across the bartop; “ I got her drinks; too!” And with that; he took his shot of Patron and stood- slapping Elijah’s arm gently with the back of his hand; “ Hey! I-“ He paused again as his eye caught something across the room and his smile turned into a wolfish grin and then slowly he looked down at his Mini. “ Look. I know you’re off the market; but I need you to mildly wingman for me. Just stand there and look pretty. Big; ” he was; of course; referring to himself [you know; Mini and Big]; “ has some business to attend you. Grab your drink and skip to my lou; my darling.” Yeah; he knew that he totally ignored everything Spencer said without ignoring her- so he was being fucking rude; while also being gracious for not cussing Spencer out. Sweet and sour; hot and cold; yes and no. . . Spencer and Elias. “ Sorry; Matty- you know I’d usually have you do it; to save Elijah the pain of betraying his beloved- but you have to entertain your guest.” With that; Elias Campbell took a sip of his drink- rose it to Spencer in a polite farewell; then headed out towards the other side of the bar. TAGGED :: skanks & skeezers ! i'm gonna get through this I GOTTA TAKE MY, TAKE MY MIND OFF YOU - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Elijah didn't know what he'd really been expecting when he'd decided to step out with his boys that night. He didn't know what he'd been expecting once they'd got to the club either. He was kind of letting life play out and let things just happen, so he couldn't be rightly surprised when Matty didn't just link arms with him and Elias and skedaddle over to the bar. Then again, Matty wasn't the type to just leave things as they were, especially not when there was a bunch of unnecessary drama and bullshit involved. All the same, he was kind of surprised that Matty just lingered behind with Spencer; sure it was probably the right thing to do, but even Spencer had to understand why Elias had blown her off the way he had. Elijah felt bad for a moment; he knew he would never have just left Ara had she been in Spencer's situation. He glanced once more in their direction, thinking it was okay because Matty was there for Spencer and the pair of them were pretty damn close now, weren't they?
Elijah just didn't want yet another girl to weigh down on his quality time with his brother. The moments they actually spent in each other's presence these days (and not just talking in a school chatroom) were becoming less and less frequent these days and Elijah knew it was because of how time-consuming his near-obsession with Ara was. But now that he was actually out with Elias, he didn't want Spencer to get in the way of that. Yeah, she was awesome and fun and sometimes bratty and obnoxious, but she was one thing guaranteed to catch Elias' attention, wasn't she? She would always affect him in some way, Elijah was sure of it. Even if Elias didn't want to admit so himself. Because even if his older brother tried ignoring Spencer, that was still some kind of attention, wasn't it?
Not that Elijah could talk. He was still thinking about Ara as he headed towards the bar with Elias. He was thinking about whether he'd ever get to drink with her in public and what she'd get... And he really wasn't supposed to. Matty had made it clear that he was tired of coming in second to Ara--they all were. And Elijah was truly sorry they felt that way--he was--but his attachment to Ara only seemed to worsen everyday. She had a power over him that he wasn't sure even she was aware of. His friends definitely noticed it--Matty called him a "vagina" any chance he got and Elias made sure he hit Elijah anytime the boy got too out of line with his sappy affection. It was true; Elijah was willing to do almost anything for Ara, but the same went for his friends. Which was why he was even out and about tonight in the first place, not thinking/worrying/wondering about Ara every second...
But still; the effort was obviously appreciated. It was nice to his older brother grinning at him in approval anywho. “Elijah fucking Campbell! You look fucking miserable!” Elias laughed as they sat down at the bar and although he was grinning back, Elijah didn't know whether to join in the laughter or quickly whip out his cell phone. Maybe Ara had texted him and he hadn't felt it...? He'd made sure to put his phone on vibrate; the last thing he wanted was one of the guys hearing his ringtone and confiscating what was practically his lifeline. Now that would just be tragic.
"Yeah; you're looking good too, bro," Elijah laughed, shaking his head at Elias. Matty was right; he was lit. Might've been more than just a couple of drinks though, knowing Elias. Speaking of drinks, it seemed the moment Elijah had gotten his Bacardi, Elias was shouting, “Let’s get three shots of Patron; shall we! Me; you and Matty!”
Elijah's eyes widened; he couldn't remember the last time he'd drank like this (certainly never with Ara) and he didn't want to overdo it on his first night back in the swing of things. But he didn't want to be a Debbie Downer either. He'd get shit for it if he didn't loosen up and try to have a good time. So he just bore it and grinned, saying, "Hell yeah; we got something to celebrate tonight!" and then he raised his glass of Bacardi Gold and Cola as a kind of toast before downing at least a quarter of it.
It seemed to be going so well too. Elias, although out of it, seemed pretty happy about things and even Elijah was getting more comfortable after feeling that initial mental buzz before the alcohol really set in. “I appreciate you coming out; I mean-“ And then it all went downhill.
Spencer, because she simply couldn't miss a pass for Elias' attention, had to come ruin their moment and it looked as if she'd dragged Matty into it with her. Even Elijah could see how this eventually became infuriating. But Elias surprised him, just smirking and chuckling a little before ordering another shot of Patron--for Spencer.
But then Elias stood up and looked around the room and Elijah watched his brother's face transform into something that Elijah was kind of afraid of, only because he knew some kind of plan was forming in Elias' very fucked up mind. “Look. I know you’re off the market; but I need you to mildly wingman for me. Just stand there and look pretty."
Elijah frowned; he did not like the sound of this at all. He wasn't sure he even remembered how to wingman...well, that is. "I am not off the market," Elijah protested, but he knew he essentially was. He couldn't really imagine himself going for another girl while he was still so hung up on Ara. It kind of sucked because he wasn't going to get her so he'd be spending a lot more of his days alone. "Anyway, I--" Elijah meant to say more, but right then he felt a long vibration in his pocket and he practically froze. There was only three people he could think of who would even bother texting him at this time--and he was out with two of them. Ara, he thought, feeling incredibly guilty for trying to ignore his cell.
"Big has some business to attend to. Grab your drink and skip to my lou; my darling.” Elijah knew this was partially because Elias wanted to get away from Spencer and partially because he needed it, but Elijah didn't want to be that guy. Still, he couldn't rightly refuse his brother--in fact, he couldn't really refuse much of anyone anything.
So like the obedient yet caring Mini he was, Elijah stood and grabbed his drink and gave Elias a look that spoke volumes without really saying anything. Mostly it said "Why?", a question Elijah didn't dare to actually ask his brother. “Sorry; Matty- you know I’d usually have you do it; to save Elijah the pain of betraying his beloved- but you have to entertain your guest.”
At that, Elijah turned to Matty and gave him a look of desperation. They both were essentially in the same place, stuck in the middle of this dumb as hell battle between Elias and Spencer; Elijah was just trying to reach out to his ally. But then Elias was walking away from the bar and Elijah had to scurry and follow.
"Is this all really necessary?" Elijah asked Elias in a hushed tone as they walked across the floor. "I'm just saying, those girls are going to be all over you anyway--people hardly pay attention to me. My mind's going to be elsewhere..." Elijah's mind went straight to the cell phone that felt extremely heavy in his pocket at the moment; he had to remember to make a run for the bathroom soon.

But when you open up to talk, I can feel I'm going soft -------- This night was definitely not one like Devin had experienced before. His free time was usually spent indoors, doing something productive with his time. This usually meant studying, reading, doing something -- that didn't involve a social gathering, that is. However, the opportunity was handed to him in a chatroom; and by none other than Spencer Kelly.
Devin knew he had other things to do, better things. He had never been the type to give into peer pressure (his virgin status should have told everyone this), but with Spencer....things were different. At this point in his unlikely friendship with the upperclassman that Devin would do almost anything to be with her. This included going out to a bar with a person he'd just briefly met in a chatroom (Matty), a younger, nicer Campbell brother (Elijah), and the designated Eisley asshole (Elias).
He could remember how to get to this place only by chance. If it hadn't been for the fact that it seemed he had to pass it every time he drove somewhere just to get from one place to another, Devin would've had absolutely no idea where this place was. Hell, at the time he had been invited, he didn't even know what kind of place it really was. He somewhat got the hint when he got out of his car after parking it; there were perhaps two, maybe three couples stumbling to their cars. So the place serves alcohol. Big deal... He shook the thought out of his head quickly, making his way up to the entrance of the building.
It was louder than he had been anticipating. Loud music, slurred voices, and the sounds of angry drivers trying to either find a parking space or leave the area surrounded him, and he frowned slightly, giving the building another look. This was going to be an environment that Devin wasn't used to, he could already tell that in the brief time span that he'd been there. He was going to deal with it though, but for two reasons only. He was doing it because Spencer had asked him to. That, and well, he couldn't stay locked in his room all the time. That was probably unhealthy in a way that had yet to be discovered.
There was a bouncer, he noticed. Just fucking great, he thought, trying not to appear as nervous as he felt. This wasn't the type of pressure he was used to. Presenting a form of identification to verify his age wasn't a problem; Logan had made his, and she used the same place that she had gotten hers. The place seemed pretty legit with the creation, and as far as he knew, it had worked with everyone who had used the place. It was just paranoia that he'd get caught with a fake one that was settling in. He handed it over to the much larger man, who looked it over. After what seemed like two hours of him just glancing back and forth between the card and the owner, he nodded, handing it back.
It didn't take him long to process the multiple smells going on in Sputnik. It smelled of alcohol, sex, and what was probably even more various types of alcohol. He might not have been too experienced with either -- in fact, his experience level was set at a dead zero with both subjects -- but even he could recognize it. Added in with the sights of stumbling girls and guys following each other to different areas of the building, Devin thought that it was okay to come up with this conclusion.
Spencer wasn't waiting for him at the door like he'd expected. Not that this upset him; frankly, he wasn't one bit surprised by this. This place apparently was, as a matter of fact, a bar, so that probably meant Spencer was off drinking....with Matty, Elijah, and, unfortunately, Elias. Devin was okay with the first two; they seemed like pretty chill guys. But as stated before, he had this ongoing dislike of Elias that he just couldn't put his finger on. It was likely that the guy wasn't all that bad, especially when it came to Spencer, but this wasn't a thought that Devin liked to entertain.
After spending the next couple minutes of his lifetime searching the vicinity for any sign of Spencer, he had decided to just give up for the time being, taking a seat on a couch. He needed time to think this through. Did he really want to deal with the drunken Spencer and the other drunken idiots, only to serve as the designated driver? Though he doubted he'd be the one driving Spencer home. She had three other guys with her that would be more than willing to take her back and, knowing how Spencer was, not emerge until the next morning. Thinking about this now, he came to the decision that he might not end up as the designated driver anyways. There was the slight chance that he'd actually try a glass of something that night, although what that something might be was an undecided choice.
His time on the couch didn't last long though, for he grew too antsy just sitting there when he had somewhere else to go. Standing, Devin gave another look around for Spencer, trying to listen fo any sign of her. And that's when he heard it. It seemed that Spencer's laughter wasn't too far away; he could hear it over the other noises in the room. Surprise, surprise, she was over at the bar. And another surprise? She was drinking.
There really wasn't a point in just standing there, watching the group. So he ran a hand quickly through his hair, crossing over to join them. But before he had even made it over completely, Elias and Elijah had walked away from the bar. This wasn't exactly a loss, it only meant that for at least the next five minutes, he could sit and talk to her without having any awkward moments around the older, scary Campbell brother.
Taking the seat next to her, Devin looked at her. "So, uh. This seat taken?" he asked her, his smile lingering there for a moment as he glanced at the drink close to her. It wasn't something he could exactly identify; Patron wasn't a type of drink that he'd had to take away from anyone as of yet. He was just about to open his mouth to remind her that he disapproved of her drinking, but stopped himself quickly, not allowing her to get any hint that he was even thinking it.
Tonight's a chill night, Dev. Keep your mouth shut.
