- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Now what? It was her first day here at this new school and there seemed to be so many people here. Why did she have to be the new girl now? Why couldn’t she of lived with her dad instead of her mum. She hated her and everyone in the family knew it except for the mum. She was too stupid to realize that she’s the one that caused all this. She was living in America instead of England. With her British accent and all at this new school should be alright and everything, but everything seemed so freakin’ wrong. She should be in England still napping or just getting up, not in America already at school. It’s not that she hated America, it’s just she didn’t like living in it. But, she did have to admit, the bands here were really good. Like this All Time Low band she got on her newly purchased iPod. Plus, the clothes here were kind of cute too.
In all her thought, she didn’t even realize that she had walked up to the school. She looked up and saw a bunch of teenagers hanging out in one large area. Probably a main area or lounge of some kind. She looked around to see if she could find somewhere open to sit, but was having no luck. She spotted a group of three people walking away and saw an open spot on a couch. She looked around to see if anyone was walking over to take it and decided that the spot would get cold if no one would sit in it. She casually walked over and took a seat. It was very comfy for a school. Then again, this was a Prep school. They must have had a ton of money laying around somewhere. At least she could tell that the place didn’t spend all of its money on football or whatever the sport was called.
She got out her notebook and decided to randomly start drawing something. Flowers. That was a good idea. Good thing she carried around a few colored pencils with her too. All flowers needed to have bright colors. Wait a minute here. This girl is depressed? There’s no possible way. Too bad. She then pulled out a small pill case and opened it up. She quickly looked around and took two of the small blue pills. She pulled out a bottle of water and put it all back in her bag. The pills didn’t help her, but these were her new ones and her psychologist told her that it might take a few days for them to kick in. She looked back down at her drawing so far. Just a few flowers on a grassy plane. She looked at the five colors she had with her today: red, yellow, blue, purple, and orange. She took out the blue and decided to leave that for the sky. She then took the purple and started to lightly shade in a few flower petals. Yeah, she could get away with people not labeling her as ‘depressed’ at this school. Might also get labeled as something she doesn’t want, but emo was really the last thing on her list.

*the whole damn world is just as obsessed ! , WITH WHO'S THE BEST DRESSED AND WHO'S HAVING SEX As she showered and let the warm water hit her body, Brooklyn couldn't help but wonder, when the HELL was she getting out of high school. Well, okay she knew the answer to that. She only had a few more months before she was free from the grasps of twelfth grade. High school was full of politics that she didn't want to be apart of. Everything was separated into cliques of who was cool and who wasn't, especially at Eisley Prep. Of course most would have thought that Brooklyn was just full of it since she was apart of the popular crowd. She was captain of the cheerleading team after all. Brooklyn hadn't become a cheerleader to be popular though. She just liked it. She hadn't thought that she would, seeing as how both her step sisters were cheerleaders and she hated them, but that's neither here nor there. Brooklyn felt as though she fell into more than one category and she was proud of that.
She climbed out of the shower and walked back into her room, wearing nothing but a towel. Instead of making her way to her closet, she made her way over to her laptop. There was a notification in her desktop and she rolled her eyes when she realized what it was. It was the gossip blog update. As usual it was all about who was sleeping with who, who was seen where, and what rumors people insisted on spreading about everyone. The only thing that really caught her eye was the blog entry about one of her best friends, and crushes, Elijah Campbell and her fellow cheerleader (or ex-cheerleader as of late). God everyone was obsessed with the trivial things in high school. Of course, it could be worse. She could be stuck going to the same school as her evil stepsisters, or as she liked to call them, Tweedle-Ditz and Tweedle-Ditzier. Now that would be hell, especially since the oldest of the two was the captain of the cheerleading team at their school. Yeah that would not make for a good high school career.
After getting dressed, Brooklyn pulled her hair into a high ponytail and put on a little bit of make-up. It was obvious that all of her roommates had already left for school, which meant that she was probably damn near late. That's exactly what she got for getting completely wasted the night before. She grabbed her backpack, purse, and popped a few tylenol. Grabbing her shades off the dresser she slid them over her face to shield her eyes from the sun. She also scanned through her ipod and settled on Bowling for Soup, pressing play and turning up the volume.
As soon as she stepped outside, Brooklyn began going through her purse looking for a cigarette. It was a horrible habit, but there were once ones out there. She finally found one and pulled out her trusty lighter. She took long drags as she made her way to the main building on campus, not wanting to waste one bit of the cancer stick. Finally, she reached the door to the student lounge and flicked the pitiful remains of the cigarette on the ground. She opened the door and was greeted by some hellos and even a few hugs. She didn't feel like being bothered at the moment so she looked for an empty seat. No such luck. She did, however, spot a couch with only one occupant. Hmm...this was a girl she had never seen before. Brooklyn gravitated over to the girl, plopping down next to her, not even bothering to ask if it was okay.
"Hey i don't think I've seen you around here before," she said taking out one of her earphones. "I'm Brooklyn, but you can call me Brooky or BK." She looked down at the girl's sketch and said, "Wow, looks like EP just gained one talented artist. * and you don’t have the right friends and you’re still listen to the same shit you did back then ! , HIGH SCHOOL NEVER ENDS tagged , ari w. outfit , outfit! lip ring! nose ring!words , 671. lyrics , high school never ends by bowling for soup. status , finished. notes , hmm....i know my post is a little jumpy. sorry. promise i'll do better next time.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - She was almost finished with her drawing when she, out of the corner of her eye, saw the door open and a very colorful person walk in. She was wearing a plad shirt with yellow and blue on it, along with jeans with holes in them and what looked to be yellow leggings underneath. Her converse were the sidewalk chalk ones and were very cute to be honest with. She couldn't see the book bag, but her purse was huge. Ari guessed that was one of the big fads over here. She also had a lip and nose ring. This girl, if she came over to her, and Ari would probably get along very well.
Lucily, she did. She said that she'd never seen her around before and that her name was Brooklyn, either Brooky of BK. She peeked over at Ari's drawing and said that EP had gotten a really talented artist. She had to grin at that. She had been told that her art was very good before, but she was new here and a random girl name Brooklyn had just said so; she guessed that proved it. She wasn't upset about the discovery; she was acutally very happy. She thought her art was crap, but when a random stranger says your art work is good, it's apparently very good.
Ari took one headphone out and turned to her and in her heavy British accent introduced herself, "My name is Aristotle, but you can call me Ari for short. And thank you. But, I still think I'm better at music that I am at my art skills." She then flipped through her little sketch book to see other drawings she had done. Little scenes like oceans and forests mostly filled the page. But, there was the occasional boy and girl hand in hand. She thought it was cute when she drew it. But then she turned the page and the asshole dumped her for another girl. Oh well.
She then looked around and saw that in her not paying attention, more people had filed into the school and this little lounge thing. Everyone was in their own little groups. Each group had their own individual style. She could tell who the preps and jocks were, along with the sceenesters and rebels. She looked at Brooklyn and couldn't pinpoint were she would fit in among these people. Her outfit was very bright and colorful, yet she didn't see one of the preps wearing anything like it. It was very intriguing to her.
"So, what's it like here at EP?" she questioned. Obviously it was a clique-heavy place waiting for something to happen. Hell, they probably had one of those gossip columns by the way things looked. Gross. Drama. Ari couldn't stand drama the least bit. Yeah things happened, but, did everyone have to know about everyone else's problems? No, no they did not. She really hoped that these last two years of high school wouldn't be drama filled. Her best friend Meghan had warned her of Americans and their drama. It went hand and hand basically.

*the whole damn world is just as obsessed ! , WITH WHO'S THE BEST DRESSED AND WHO'S HAVING SEX "My name is Aristotle, but you can call me Ari for short. And thank you. But, I still think I'm better at music that I am at my art skills." Just as she said these words, Brooklyn was unwrapping a muffin that she had grabbed from the kitchen in the dorm and stuffed in her bag. She took a huge piece off of the top of the muffin and popped it into her mouth. Just as she had hoped, it was a chocolate chip muffin, instead of blueberry. God, she just couldn't stand blueberry. "Wait, you mean your name is Aristotle, like the greek philosopher? Very nice," she said nodding her head in approval. "And you're into music. You have officially been added to my friends list. Plus I love your accent. Its soo....British," Brooklyn said making a motion as if she was checking off something on a checklist. "I'm what I like to as a rockstar-in-training. I'm gonna make it big one day. I'm a bad ass at guitar plus I right my own music. I play piano, too. Total package." Brooklyn kept her special notebook with lyrics with her at all times. You never know when inspiration might hit you, and she wanted to be prepared for anything. The only thing in the world that Brooklyn loved more than music, and eating, was gardening. That was something that she had gotten from her mother. She had been in the garden, well, forever. Even when she moved in with her Aunt and Uncle, they let her turn a section in both the front and back yards into garden patches. Even if, no, even when she made it as a musician, she panned on owning her own floral shop as well. That way should could do both of the things that she loved. She was snapped out of her thoughts when Ari asked her how it was at EP. Brooklyn couldn't help but laugh. It was obvious that the girl wasn't talking about academics. Brooklyn herself scanned the lounge. It was obvious that most of the people were separated by both cliques and grades. "Honestly, hell. I'm a bit biased though because I think that high school in general is hell. Lucky for me, I'm out of here after this semester." She took another bit of the muffin top. Honestly it was the only part that she liked. She swallowed rather quickly, not wanting to get to distracted. Food always did that to her. She went through her bag once more, pulling out another cigarette and her lighter. "You don't mind do you?" she asked, though she had already lit the cigarette. She didn't give a damn about whether or not she was breaking the rules. Actually, she had never taken the time to look up the rules on smoking in buildings on campus. After taking a long drag, holding, and then releasing the smoke in the opposite direction of Ari, she began talking again. "Okay, as I'm sure you've noticed, EP has cliques. EP actually thrives off of its cliques really. You have the usuals, the popular girls and the cheerleaders, which tend to be one in the same. You also have the jocks, emos, goths, trust fund babies, rebels, loners, the freshies, the musicians, the sluts, the stoners, the theatre geeks, just plain geeks, the total bad asses, who are not to be confused with the rebels, and so on and so forth. She took another drag of the cigarette and let the smoke fill her lungs. " I, my dear, am head cheerleader, so I am close to the top of the food chain. Don't hold that against me though. As you can tell, I'm extremely different from the cheerleader stereotype. I'm not blonde, an airhead, and cheerleading isn't exactly my life. As far as the skanky part of the stereotype...okay I kind of fit that," she added with a laugh. "I actually don't like to classify myself in a clique, but people do it to me anyway as their way to keep the social hierarchy intact. I'm pretty sure that Miss Penelope Evans, aka Queenie, would flip her fucking wig if the cliques just disappeared tomorrow. I like to associate with people from almost all of the cliques though. I mean, I've hung with some of the burnouts, I definitely like to party, I'm into music so I'm cool with a lot of the musicians, I talk to some emos, I'm a bit of a slut so that kind of speaks for itself and I'm pretty sure you get the point. The badasses and rebels are some of my favorites though. I love to cause trouble and mess shit up so they kind of keep that habit up for me. Brooklyn ignored the looks she was getting for her cigarette The entire student lounge could bite her for all she cared. Actually, she might like that. She smirked at the thought. Turning back to Ari she said, "Don't worry though. As long as you stay off the radar you should be fine as far as drama is concerned. I'm not a big fan of it myself, but I've been involved in just a tad. Just stay off of Rumer Mills radar."[/blockquote] * and you don’t have the right friends and you’re still listen to the same shit you did back then ! , HIGH SCHOOL NEVER ENDS tagged , ari w. outfit , outfit! lip ring! nose ring!words , 905 lyrics , high school never ends by bowling for soup. status , finished. She first commented on her name, refering to the Greek philosopher. Alright, that was a good sign. She then said since she was also into music, she was officially been added to her friends list. Ari smiled at that. She also said that she loved her accent; that it was so British. She had to laugh at that one. That's the first time anyone's made a comment on her accent since she'd shown up. People just looked at her kind of funny when she talked. She said something about being a rock star in training. She said she was basically awesome at guitar and she played piano. Ari couldn't stand but smile at that one too. "Me too! I mean, sorry for getting over enthused, but I play both instruments too." Okay, so she'd known this girl for a few minutes and she was already getting Ari hyped up. That was a very good sign, for Ari at least.
She said that she was a bit biased but she thought it was a hell hole basically. That made Ari feel well. She then went into explaining the basic cliques. The preps, jocks, emos, geeks, bad asses, rebels, and so on and so forth. Ari kind of sighed. She knew it was a high school, but she could only dream that one high school would drop the clique crap for once. She then said something about being head cheerleader and was at the top of the food chain, but said that she was completely different from the other cheerleaders. She wasn't blond or and airhead. Ari kind of smirked at that. She did, however, say that she fit the skanky part of it though. Brooklyn then went into explaining that she didn't like to classify herself into a clique, but Penelope Evans, whoever that may be, would flip out if the cliques suddenly disappeared tomorrow.
She liked to associate herself with people from all groups. The rebels and bad asses being her favorite. She went into how she liked to cause trouble and what not. She said that as long as Ari stayed off the radar, that she would be fine. She was not a big fan of drama. Ari nodded in agreement, "Neither am I." But she has been involved in it, but she said to stay off the Rumor Mill.
So, Ari recapped everything in her head. Brooky was basically a cheerleader, yet not. She wasn't really into drama either. The school, just like any other, had its basic cliques plus a rumor thing. Great. But, as long as Ari stayed out of the way and was just one of those 'normal' people, she would have no trouble with it. Hopefully, she would stay that way, but when she got to meet other people, she would have a problem with keeping her opinions to herself. Oh well.
