now, the party DON'T START 'TIL I WALK IN - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Penelope had been hearing about this upcoming party for so long that it was kind of surreal that the day of the party was finally there. But that didn't mean she wasn't ready for it. It was the perfect Saturday night; the weather was unusually warm--had to be in the low 50s at the worst--and there was something about the city air that night. It was still with anticipation; the kind that made Penelope raise an eyebrow and lick her lips like a predatory fox. Something was going to happen tonight, she just knew it.
Penelope was itching for a party and one thrown by none other than the three most popular guys in the school? Well, that was a real party now, wasn't it? Penny had to admit that when she'd seen the bright pink flier, she'd been a little dubious, but she knew her boys knew what they were doing. Besides, having a shirtless Hayden on an invite to a party was a sure win; they were guaranteed to have most, if not all of the school turn up tonight. And when you fit that many high schoolers into one club, well...things got crazy.
Penelope had been to Southpaw before for a couple of concerts; she knew her way around. The live music wasn't half bad considering it was a pretty well hidden place in the middle of Brooklyn, but with KP behind the turntables tonight, Penny knew that the music was going to be amazing. In fact, there wasn't one part of this night so far that she couldn't see being totally awesome. It was just a school party, so Penelope figured she wouldn't have to dress up that much; besides, she was the Queen Bee. People would be aching to look like her tonight and if their outfits were more extravagant than hers, Penny was sure those people would feel way overdressed.
It didn't take Penny long to get dressed. She threw on a classic but flattering pair of jeans, a fancy looking tank top, a spritz of perfume, some styling peep-toe pumps, some sparkly silver eyeshadow with dramatic cat-eye eyeliner and her usual accessories. Within an hour, she was ready to go out the door and she did--with her usual posse in tow.
Well, not exactly her usual posse. Mostly her second hands. Penelope hadn't been able to get a hand of Ara lately (she figured it had something to do with that more than slightly sketchy Elijah kid) and Brad was the one behind the party so naturally he couldn't lag behind and arrive with her. Penelope respected that and all, but there was still no way she was going to Southpaw alone. What kind of Queen travels by herself? Hence the posse--made up of three or four girls and maybe one or two guys--all people who hung out on the East Quad and were part of that unnamed but very much known "elite" clique of Eisley that ruled the roost with Penelope as their head.
Penelope arrived at Southpaw at around 8 PM and it sounded like things were just getting set up. Penelope smiled cattily as she made her way to the door. Perfect, she thought. She loved being the first to arrive but considering she liked being the first for pretty much anything, that was no surprise. Smiling at the group following her, Penelope opened the doors to Southpaw and instantly headed upstairs, forgoing the bar downstairs completely. She glanced at the bar as she and her group walked by; there would always be time for drinking later. Right now she wanted to go upstairs and claim the first seats or something--maybe sit in an intimidating pose or so that she was the first thing people saw when they walked into the room. That would be cool.
Penny and her group finally made it to the lounge area, which was pretty dimly lit but set a nice mood for the place, especially for the party that was about to go down. The first thing Penny saw when she entered the room was a large banner that read in graffiti-type print: SCHOOL IS BACK IN SESSION. Penny grinned; damn straight it was.
"I have arrived!" Penny exclaimed as soon as she and her guests were fully in the lounge. "And I brought company," she added, looking over her shoulder at her little entourage who let out hoots and hollers of approval as if on cue. Oh yes, it was going to be a fabulous night for the Queen indeed.

*GROVE SLAM WORK IT BACK,FILTER THAT, BABY BUMP THAT TRACK.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Gracie didn't really understand why she was here in the first place. A back to school party? The name was sort of lame - school wasn't exactly something to celebrate, the last time the girl checked. But of course, these teenagers probably just wanted a reason to party, and party hard. Not that Gracie didn't understand - she wasn't one to reject an invitation to party, and not remember it the next day. Which was why when she saw the hot pink poster hanging in the hallway at school, she was quite curious. Being new at Eisley, she didn't know that many people to be honest, and maybe this was the way to meet and mingle.
Then again, Gracie knew herself - she'd end up partying too hard tonight, if she didn't have control. No matter how many times she tried her hardest to keep herself away from the alcohol, it always found a way to get into her system either way. And when she was drunk, she did pretty stupid things. She remembered mornings waking up in strange hotel rooms with men old enough to be her dad. Ew. Shaking the memory out of her head, Gracie decided to concentrate on getting ready for this party. Because it was last minute that she decided to go in the first place, and the fact that she didn't know what the dress-code was going to look like, she dove into her closet and tried her best.
Pulling on a mini, strapless silk dress, black classic heels, and her diamond penguine necklace, Gracie looked in the mirror with satisfaction. Hopefully it could pass for casual should people be dressed that way when she arrived - and hopefully it could pass for a more formal outfit as well. Not that Gracie minded what other people thought of her to a certain extent, but it would be nice just to fit in with the crowd, instead of standing out. Putting her hair in a simple up-do, and then tying the outfit together with simple accessories, she finally felt ready to get off school campus.
After asking twenty un-helpful people for the address to Southpaw, Gracie finally got the directions from out of all people, a teacher. After stepping into a yellow taxi cab, Gracie realized she could have just told the cab where to take her. Laughing at herself, the girl felt slightly better. Maybe things would start to perk up after all. After ten minutes of silent driving, the cab pulled up to the entrance of the building. Giving the driver some of her money, Gracie finally stepped out of the car.
As the car drove away, Gracie looked up at the SouthPaw entrance. New to the city, she had never been there before, but she had a feeling this wouldn't be the only night she'd visit this building. Hopefully, when she left here, either in the night or early morning, she would have a few more friends than she already did. Opening the doors, Gracie saw that the building had two floors - downstairs, the large bar, and upstairs was dimly lit lounge. Interesting, the girl thought, studying the bar with interest. Clearly, this was not a school hosted event as she had assumed, but completely student run. At least things were easier to get away with, in this case.
Walking past the bar quickly to avoid temptation, though stopping quickly enough to grab a virgin sex on the beach, Gracie walked up the stairs slowly. The place seemed pretty empty - she could hear a few voices upstairs, and downstairs had a few people milling around, but it seemed the party was just starting. Praying no one wondered why she was her, and hopefully wouldn't kick her out of the place, Gracie finally made it to the lounge. There was a slightly larger crowd milling around - though they were all, it seemed, in one huge group. Most likely the 'it' crowd around here, Gracie knew better than to walk towards them and start talking.
Instead, taking a seat close to the stairs, Gracie took a small sip of her drink. Hopefully as the evening grew later, she would find someone she wanted to mingle with. Right now, she tried to comfort herself by the fact that many people would be wondering who she was - and what she was doing here. After all, a party isn't a party without a mysterious guest arriving, right?

--- come on bartender , ( WON'T YOU BE MORE TENDER? ) This would be the first time in...well, ever that Serenity would be attending a party like this while single. She had never been much into the party scene before she met Tyson. And once she started going out with Tyson, she spent all of her partying time firmly at his side--voluntarily in the beginning, and by force later on. So her party days had basically consisted of drinking with Tyson, flirting with Tyson, talking to Tyson and Tyson's friends, and dancing with Tyson. She didn't really know how to go to a party without him. Unfortunately, she didn't realize this until a couple of hours before the much discussed Back to School Bash.
She seriously considered just skipping it altogether--after all, would anybody really notice if she wasn't there? It seemed like everyone else was so wrapped up in their own drama that they barely had time for anyone else. She had a suspicion that the night would resemble one of the conversations in the Eisley chatroom, but with physical interaction mixed in as well. Ara had her issues with Elijah and--as Serenity had been told--Hayden; Spencer had to deal with the mess she had created with Devin, Grant, and god-knows-who-else; and she didn't know if she even wanted to approach Brad now that everyone was under the (probably correct) impression that she had some sort of an immature crush on him. And that was just the beginning. Who knew what all of her other friends were dealing with that she didn't even know about?
Even if her presence wouldn't be too sorely missed during the actual party, however, Serenity knew that she wasn't going to get out of going. Spencer, for one, most likely wouldn't hear of it. She seemed to have made it her mission to integrate Serenity into both Eisley and New York life as quickly and as thoroughly as possible. And besides that, she had already promised Hayden a dance, and it was at least partially his party (as the poster emphasized), so that was basically that. She was going to the stupid party.
She started getting ready a little earlier than was really necessary, so by the time she was done showering, hair-drying, hair-styling, makeup-applying, and dressing, it was still rather early. If there was really no reason for her to even go, why should she get there before everyone else did? Of course...it wasn't like she really had much to do while she waited. Or was there? Serenity sent a sidelong glance into her still-open closet, at the back of which there was a mini-fridge filled with all sorts of alcoholic goodies. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad if she had something to take the edge off of the night...
No. No, no, no, a thousand times, no. It was bad enough she was going to show up by herself, but to show up by herself and drunk? Even being a little buzzed would be bad in this situation. If necessary, she would drink a little at the party, but certainly not before. She shuddered at the idea of the embarrassment she would go through if she showed up wasted and decided to leave early after all--to avoid temptation.
She managed to hail a cab--she was getting better and better at that the more time she spent in Brooklyn, although there were still times where she wasn't assertive enough--because, quite frankly, she didn't feel safe taking the bus this late at night. And when she finally arrived at Southpaw, Serenity realized what a mistake it had been to arrive so early. There were hardly any other people there. Certainly nobody she knew or, at least, was on good terms with. She absolutely hated having to sit there alone all awkward-like, waiting for someone else to come and save her from her loneliness. It was much better when she got to be the savior. But it didn't really look like she had a choice.
If this wasn't cause for drinking, she didn't know what was.
She approached the bar confidently, knowing well enough that if you acted like you were doing something wrong, then the bartender would know that you were. Of course, this was obviously a high school party, so Serenity figured that there were two possible scenarios going on here: one, the bartender knew that everyone was underage and wouldn't serve anything alcoholic; or two, Hayden, Brad, and KP had managed to convince him otherwise. Either way, she chickened out once she reached the bar and ended up just asking for a water, at least to start with. And then, since she didn't really know what else to do, she stayed there at the bar. Awkward and lonely, indeed.

na na na na na na na
I wanna start a fight This term was; in two words; fucking horrible. Mostly all the business regarding her younger sister is what would make other things fucking horrible. Tilly was distracted; irritable and confused. Ara was a completely different person this term. And; selfishly; Tilly wanted her sister back. Missing Ara had thrown the whole dynamic of the LeBeaux’s sisters off. After awhile Nala and Tilly felt incomplete just being the two of them and Nala started spending more time with Penny and the other bitches and Tilly spent all her free time with her long time boyfriend; KP. What had been three; and then four with the addition of Ara’s bestfriend Val; had turned into none. Before school; between classes; after Ara was done with practice- the LeBeaux sisters were together. And then; out of fucking nowhere; Ara’s acquaintance Elijah turned into a friend and then; SUDDENLY; they were conjoined. It wasn’t even like Ara couldn’t go anywhere without Elijah- it was Ara wanted to go places with him instead of them. Something about that cat had totally caught her younger sister up and she barely got to see her.
And then; the two of them disappeared. Out of nowhere; just up and vanished off the face of the Earth. It was a Friday afternoon. Tilly remembered because Ara had done something so uncharacteristic of herself; she skipped cheerleading practice. According to the coach; that was the second time that week. Of course; Tilly flipped. That whole weekend they called and searched and called and searched and called all over her sixteen year old sister; only to get a text saying ”I’m back; I’m fine. I love you. Goodnight!” on Sunday. The worst part was; it was a mass message that Ara had sent not only her; but to their oldest sister, Valentina and Tilly’s boyfriend KP. And that’s whatstarted the ugly argument in chat that Ara had blamed Tilly and KP for starting and said they had attacked Elijah. In retaliation; Tilly had called Ara and told her that Elijah had blamed the whole mess on her. In reality; Tilly knew that wasn’t what he was doing; that he was defending himself and saying that he hadn’t just kidnapped the teenage girl and run off.
Tilly had no idea what happened after that; because Ara made it a point to avoid her sister and her sisters boyfriend. Every now and then she’d see Ara and Elijah around campus; but Tilly couldn’t talk to Ara with Elijah around- because she wanted to rip his freakin’ head off and Ara would most certainly throw a tantrum because of it. So; it had literally been about a week since she had spoken to her baby sister. And it hurt; Tilly had gone from almost every free minute with her sister- to not being able to even talk to her. That caused her to be irritable and distracted with everything else. The only thing; well person; that was keeping her from really causing a scene and potentially losing her sister was her boyfriend of five years; KP Caine. Even though he was the most infuriating mother fucker she knew; he was also the one that took the best care of her.
However; things weren’t going so well at the moment. KP took a job spinning at Spencer Kelly’s birthday soiree. It was nothing against Spencer; although Tilly didn’t particularly care for the fact that her man was friends like that with a girl who was better known for her bedroom skills than anything else. Mostly it bugged her that Spencer was friends with Elijah and his punkass broke dick brother Elias; which meant that they’d be there having a great time and what not- and that’s the last fucking thing Tilly wanted. As far as Tilly was concerned there were teams- and Spencer was on the wrong side. Not to mention that Tilly heard that her sister Ara had gotten drunk a few times; thanks to Spencer’s supply. No; not okay. Basically all that equaled up to; was KP doing something that she wasn’t okay with. And because of that; Tilly was being short with him and spending more time talking to Hayden; Brad and Brad’s new friend “Bama” who was really named Alaska and was the Headmistresses’ daughter. She was having an okay time; but the chip on her shoulder and the drink in her hand meant before the night Tilly and KP were probably gonna end up cussing each other out right there at the table right next to KP’s DJ booth.
Taking a deep breath; she sipped on her ADMF [which stands for “Adios Mother Fucker”- aka; a whole lot of alcohol] and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. Her eyes travelled up to the booth where KP was doing his thing and without even thinking of it; her eyes rolled and she turned her attention back to across the table where Brad had just sat to inquire about Bama’s well being. Tilly had to bite her tongue so that she wouldn’t give Brad some sort of bitchy retort about how Bama is a big girl and that she wasn’t about to let anything happen to her; but Brad didn’t deserve that.
Ugh; she needed a shot. But Brad and Bama didn’t drink; she had no idea where Hayden was; Nala hadn’t gotten there yet; Tilly’s own twin brother was the last person she wanted to kick it with; Ara and her dude hadn’t showed up yet and even if they did Tilly didn’t want them around- and she wanted KP’s ass to stay up there in his booth. It was her against her rules to take a shot alone; but she figured she could make an exception for tonight; since it sucked. Reaching up; she waved the waitress down and tried to put on a smile up until the woman got up to her; “Imma need a shot. Somethin’ fierce but still tastes good;” again she looked up at the DJ booth and felt her blood boil under her skin; “make it two.” The waitress didn’t even ask her for an ID or for money. She; like everyone else in Brooklyn; knew she was KP’s chick.TAGGED :: er'rone ! OUTFIT :: here ! COUNT :: 1050 ! LYRICS :: `so what` by pink ! NOTES :: mhm kp. . . MHM ! i'mma walk towards the city lights CALLING ME AND GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Elijah Campbell wanted to lie and say that he didn't know why the fuck he was even going out tonight to this stupid party held in this goddamn club when all the people from his school that didn't like him were going to be there, but as was mentioned, that would be a lie. He knew exactly why he was going and the reason was the same reason he used whenever he was doing something else totally unlike him. Ara. Anyone who really knew him would tell you; kid would do just about anything for this girl, especially if it made her happy. Lord knows why, but he did it and usually without complaining. His reward? Her happiness, a smile and maybe a little lovin' every now and then.
Oh, you pervert. Get your mind out of the gutter. Anyone who knows of Elijah and Ara knows they haven't done anything below the belt. They're strictly platonic make out buddies! Or so Elijah tells himself. It's kind of his mantra so that he doesn't go too far because well...he's a teenage boy. He has needs and wants. And Ara, well, she's fucking gorgeous. He has eyes too.
And, according to him, she looked good in anything. Which was why he didn't really understand why she practically needed to get ready for this party with him--not that he was complaining. Watching her try on outfits and gussying up was actually...fun. Despite Elias calling them the newlyweds or whatever other marriage metaphor he could come up with, Elijah did enjoy that time spent with Ara. Besides, if Elijah hadn't had Ara by his side, who knows what kind of stupid outfit he'd end up wearing. He wasn't fashionably challenged by any means--most of his closet was filled with snazzy looking plaid shirts and classy vests--but when it came to certain things (accessories and color coordination, for example), he was almost a lost cause. If he hadn't had Ara around, he might've actually taken a gold pocket watch along with him while all his other accessories were silver. Shame, shame.
Elijah was only taking the pocket watch as a mocking gesture. Elias might've even appreciated it. Here Elijah was, dressed as usual with a silver chain attached to his jeans (which could either be classy or punk or whatever) and a fucking silver pocket watch. He felt as if he should bring a monocle along, just for the hell of it. In his mind, it was kind of making fun of all those East Quad kids with their Abercrombie, J-Crew, Hollister whatever--and him now with his tattoos and piercings and a fucking pocket watch. You couldn't tell Elijah he didn't have class now. Ara had told him not to change who he was to impress her friends; that was one thing Elijah would probably never do. He loved Ara, honest, but he wasn't looking to make buddy-buddy with her friends who had already judged him and deemed him unworthy of her. Exactly what had they done for her anyway?
Anyway, he was going to the party with Ara--no, for Ara--and he was expected to meet her friends. Elias had made him promise that there would be no ass-kissing (he'd left Ara's as an exception, stating that he knew that Elijah simply could help kissing that one) before they left. It kind of made it all feel like a date, even more so than the getting dressed together part or whatever. But Elijah knew better than that. He had to banish such thoughts from his mind before they left anyway.
There was a huge reason this wasn't a date; Hayden Kelley was going to be at that party. Elijah tensed up at the mere thought of the boy. If he thought he even had a chance with Ara, Hayden would've been a most formidable rival. But as it was, Elijah knew Ara would never think of him that way. Hayden had his work cut out for him.
But as they left for the party, Elijah tried not to think about that. Instead, he focused all his energy on Ara and making this a good night for her. Because even if he himself didn't enjoy it, if she had a good time, he'd be fine. And these are the thoughts that occupied Elijah's mind as he got on his motorbike--affectionately named Blade--with Ara on behind him. Yeah, they were traveling to this party not only together, but in style. Elijah was so pumped to see her friends' faces when they finally got there.
"Hold on tight, Spidermonkey," Elijah said to Ara, looking over his shoulder with a smirk on his face. He found it slightly funny that she was wearing a helmet (at his insistence; he cared about her safety) and how well it went with the rest of her very pink outfit. He had his own helmet on--a nice green one that matched his sweet bike (oh, how he loved Blade)--but that's as far as safety requirements went tonight. Elijah was trying to be free and easy. It seemed to be working so far.
By the time they pulled up in front of Southpaw, Elijah was ecstatic for the night to begin. He parked the motorbike before getting off and helping Ara off it (not that she needed help; he was just like that) and gestured to the bar before them. "After you, m'lady," Elijah said with a cute grin, extending his elbow for Ara to take. If he was going to make fun of posh people, he had to do it right, no?
The pair (seemingly unlikely) made their way into Southpaw as a couple of people from their school also streamed into the building. It didn't seem to be that busy though and Elijah hoped that Ara's friends hadn't arrived yet. He'd have liked to spend a little more time alone with her.
But the moment they entered the building, Elijah heard the unmistakable sound of Penelope Evans' voice. He internally cringed. Besides Ara's sisters and KP, Penelope was Elijah's biggest problem. Rather, person who had the biggest problem with him as it wasn't really Elijah with the problem... Anyway.
"Do you wanna head upstairs?" Elijah asked Ara, raising an eyebrow. Penny and the crew were upstairs; Elijah wanted to both avoid going up there and also go up there right that second. Yeah; he didn't understand it either. Maybe he should get a drink first. Well, the bar was downstairs, so... "It's up to you," he added, grinning again. Did it matter? As long as he was with Ara, it'd all be alright.

i'll be your CONNECTION TO THE PARTY LINE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - After her (unfortunately brief) talk with Matty and Elias in the Eisley chatroom, Spencer was having second thoughts about this party. Matty and Elias made the party seem so...juvenile and high school. Granted Spencer was very much in high school (actually, so was Matty, a fact she forgot quite often), but she didn't like feeling any younger than she absolutely had to. And right now she felt pretty young and stupid. Not only was she going to a high school party, she was going with Devin which meant she couldn't even drink--and honestly, what was the point of going to a party besides that? On top of that, she'd somehow pissed Elias (oh please; she knew exactly how and why), thus abruptly ending their conversation that Spencer was sure would be more fun than the party would be.
I mean, for a while there, they'd been quoting Grease. It doesn't get much better than that. But now Spencer was logged out of the chatroom and Logan was probably in the other room getting ready for the party. Spencer imagined that Devin must have been too; he didn't know proper party etiquette considering he never went out and it was still very early. The kid was probably all dressed and just waiting for Spencer's call. Spencer shook her head at the thought; what was she ever going to do with Devin?
In fact, that was a good question. Last night, Devin had confessed to her that he actually seriously liked her and had this been a few months ago, maybe Spencer would've been absolutely ecstatic to hear that. But after spending months convincing herself that whenever someone told her that Devin liked her, it was a joke, Spencer wasn't exactly the happiest girl in the world. But that was barely the biggest reason--by far.
Spencer wasn't happy with Devin's confession because well, to her, at this moment in time, it was the wrong guy saying the right thing to her. Despite what small part of Spencer liked Devin back and was confused about whether she should go there, a bigger part of her was attached to Elias and the hope that one day...maybe they'd...
"Be together?" Spencer spoke out loud to herself, trying to taste the words on her tongue. They felt weird and heavy and she wasn't sure what that meant, but now wasn't the time to look any further into that. Besides, her party guests were probably wondering where the hell she was at or what she was up to, at least.
"Logan!" Spencer called out from her seat in her room. Logan's room was thankfully to the right of hers, so Spencer didn't need to go very far for the freshman to hear her. "Logan! I hope you're getting ready for the party! We're leaving in thirty!"
Spencer imagined Logan might've replied with something like, "Thirty what? Minutes or seconds?" but Spencer didn't stick around to hear the reply. Her outfit for the night was already laid out on her bed so she made her way to her bathroom. Yes, her own personal one; being the first in the dorms allowed Spencer the privilege of the master suite, which she definitely used to her advantage.
About fifteen minutes later, she left the shower, smelling like Herbal Essences and rain (thanks to her deodorant) and just toweled off her hair. The water made her curls tighter anyway; it was a good look for her. Spencer quickly slipped into her outfit, really liking the corset-styled tank top that she'd (luckily) found at a thrift shop the weekend before. It fit her perfectly. Feeling a little glitzy, Spencer put on a cool belt and one of her favorite hats--a fedora with sequined lining. She placed one of her curls in front of her left eye and left her hair hanging down before placing the fedora on top of her head.
She did some sexy cat-eye eyeliner (what she was best at), put on some sheer lipgloss and was ready to go. Throwing on a navy blue cardigan and putting on her favorite flats, Spencer rushed out of her room (making sure to grab keys and turn off the light), and knocked hard on Logan's door. "Last call, bub! We're out!"
Once Logan came out, the two left their dorm to trek across the school ground to pick up Devin. Okay, so maybe it wasn't a trek and it wasn't really across school grounds so much as it was more than a couple of feet away from the girls' dorms, but details, details... Once the two had collected Devin, Spencer called the car service number she so conveniently had on speed dial (private car service as compliments of her mother; sometimes being a rich kid really paid off) to come pick them up and drop them off at Southpaw.
The car didn't take too long to get there, but it was the car ride to Southpaw that had Spencer kind of on edge. Despite getting in the car on an entirely different side than he, Spencer ended up between a window seat and...Devin. Just great. She flashed him a smile nonetheless, hoping she wasn't showing how uncomfortable she was with the situation. She didn't understand how he could be so calm. She was waiting for him to burst and break; to just start shouting at her and ask her what she wanted from him, did she really like him, what was she waiting for, etc.
But no. He did nothing. And that freaked Spencer out more than anything. Luckily, the car ride wasn't that long and Spencer spent most of it staring out the window anyway, occasionally joining in on Logan and Devin's conversation. When they arrived at Southpaw, she practically scrambled out of the car (after making sure to say a quick, but polite adios to her driver) and waited for her two guests on the sidewalk, watching other (somewhat recognizable) Eisley students arrive at the party. It was still early though.
When Logan and Devin joined her, Spencer grinned. "You guys ready to party?" She clasped her hands together, acting a lot more excited than she felt. "Let's go inside then; c'mon!" With a cat-like smile on her face, Spencer led them into Southpaw which looked much nicer on the inside than it did on the out. Her stomach clenched as they passed the bar downstairs and Spencer realized she'd be sober tonight--and not by choice. She was developing a headache already.
She turned around to face Devin and quirked an eyebrow at him. "Are you sure you still wanna do this? Not gonna chicken out last minute? Because we can still go back, if you don't want to be here," Spencer said, speaking very quickly and kind of snappishly. The reason was, well, she wasn't sure she wanted to be here any longer herself. So if Devin wanted to go back, at least she had an excuse to leave. Maybe she could still catch up with Matty and Elias at this point...

NOW GUESS WHO`S BACK - WITH A BRAND NEW TRACK
THAT GOT EVERYBODY IN THE CLUB GOIN' MAD×××××××××××××××
that morning had been extremely easy. with him and tilly not talking as much.. he just sorta woke up and immediately began to get himself ready and situated for the night ahead of him. he didn`t have the time to cater to tilly`s whacky emotions because not only did he have to work.. he had to set up and host a party. he just didn`t wanna deal with any drama. he couldn`t afford to. he was already walking on eggshells with his boss because he`d skipped work twice that week to deal with all the shit that had been going on. he needed to be there that night and he needed to be in a good mood and throw the bombest fucking party brooklyn had ever seen.
about a week before the party; he`d gone out with tilly to get that little dress she was working with for the night; and he`d bought himself an outfit with the same colors; usually a sure sign that kieve caine and tiana lebeaux were there to party up a storm and make all the other couples jealous. but after her bullshit.. KP didn`t know if they`d spend the night partying or fighting. but since he didn`t have anything else to wear for the night.. he threw it on and hoped to God that they did do more partying than fighting.
his beautification took a little longer than ten minutes; during which time he lit up a blunt and felt himself float above the world. right now; he couldn`t believe he was still co-hosting this dumbass party. but the amount of weed he`d smoked before hitting up the party kept his mind up and his trouble up there too. he scratched the record then looked up to watch his wifey for a second; his head shook involuntarily. how the fuck could she be mad at him for doing something he loved to do?
now, anybody that knew kieve caine knew that he loved djing. rich boy from cali; didn`t need a job.. but he`d taken the one at southpaw because it was djing and emceeing.. both things he loved to do! so.. when spencer asked KP to dj at her birthday party, he`d given his home girl a hug and said, hell yes! without hesitation. silly him! he thought when he told tilly, she`d be happy for him. but oh no. baby was pissed. she must`ve went off on him so quick.. it gave him whiplash.. something he should be used to, with their track record. so now; she was pissed at him and had been acting silly as hell towards him.
KP looked up at the party and smiled at how many had already shown up and it hadn`t even been that long since the party started. he looked over at tilly and shook his head at the rolled eyes her got. then he switched on his current number one hit and nodded his head to the beat a little before lowering the volume a little and picking up the mic. "EISLEY! where y`all at?" he laughed a little when a few people cheer. "hold on. hold on.. i thought i asked for eisley.. not some random jank ass group of people. EISLEY! where the fuck are you?!" he nodded when the cheering got much louder. "that`s what i thought. SO! whassup?! i`m DJ PEACE and this back to school party has offically begun. i suggest 'errbody thank brad white and hayden kelley for this thang. real talk. if i wasn`t for them there would be no party tonight so.. THAAANK YOU, BRAD AND HAAAYDEN." he laughed a little. "alright everybody; enjoy yourself and don`t party too hard tonight, though!" he put the mic back in it`s rightful place and then went back behind the DJ booth. he sighed deeply and eased the volume back up.
"the spotlight; ain`t nothing without you girl.. and the dancefloor ain`t nothing without you girl..."
what the hell? KP ain`t never came to a party pissed, sad, or annoyed. and here his ass was annoyed as all shit because of some dumb shit going on between him and tilly. he looked up and at tilly and motioned for her to come over to the booth where she usually was when he was spinning. he wasn`t going to sit there and be in a funky mood just because she wanted to be in a hateful mood. "tiana!" he yelled a little over the music and then made the motion again. he mouthed the words, 'come here', then motioned to the booth.

I guess you cant accept
that the change is good Truthfully; Ara had been looking for an opportunity like this party for awhile now. Ever since her and Elijah started hanging out; it had been one huge dramatic event after the other. She chalked it up to the old saying about. . . uhm. . . gee. . . what was it? Like; people don’t accept what they can’t understand? Or something? Anyway; people didn’t understand what her and Elijah saw in each other and they didn’t understand what kind of “friendship” they had either. Guess what? Neither did Ara and Elijah probably didn’t either. And with each passing day; each huge blow up; it was getting harder and harder for them to explain what was going on and why. This party seemed like the perfect opportunity for Kiara to show her friends and family how awesome Elijah was! All they were concerned and angry about her friendship with him; so maybe if they got to experience how rad he was; they wouldn’t be so quick to jump on either of their case!
She was surprised with how easy it was to ease him into the idea of not only coming to the party; but schmoozing with her people. When she brought up the party; he had seemed interested and also brought up the fact that KP had directly invited him. Ara stopped herself from reminding him that; that was also before all the crazy BS went down; but she didn’t want to be the rain on his parade. So; she smiled and agreed that because of the invitation and the fact that it was partially Brad’s party [which Elijah himself had also pointed out] that they should defiantly go. The train that kept the conversation going kind of lost some steam when she cheerily added; “You can meet some of my friends!” She knew Elijah had no interest in becoming an acquaintance to the people who constantly condemned him and blamed him for every mistake Ara made and that when Elias caught wind of what was going on; that he would raise holy hell and then beat Elijah into the dirt with his really unnecessary “jokes” and comments. But; it was worth a shot; right? Luckily for her; he didn’t shoot her down right then and there and after awhile it was sort of confirmed that he’d test out the waters.
In an action that could only be deemed very “Ara-ish” she had gone out and bought an outfit for the party that would sort of help Elijah not stick out; but yet something that wasn’t out of character. She hadn’t told him about it and casually tried it on with the rest of the clothing she brought over to his apartment to get ready for the big “bash”. It was a lot of fun getting ready together; tons of laughing and all around gooberness. It was a nice break to all the other stuff they had been through recently; it was kind of like it was before everyone else started to form their own opinions and theories regarding the two of them. Elias; of course; had his little commentary and even made sure to laugh nice and loud whenever whoever he was talking too in the chatroom had something funny to say. Ara found it quite easy to ignore him; they were having way too much fun to let the jerk bring them down.
The girl wasn’t trying to be naïve in regards to considering what her and Elijah were doing a “date”. Plenty of times she had gotten ready with Val or even her sisters and then go went out somewhere with each other. Does the fact that they had made out a few times and pretty much abandoned everyone else in their lives for each other change that? Most would say; “duh” but Ara would ask; “why?” Besides; she had a rather old fashioned approach to what classified as a date. That was when a boy who liked a girl asked her to do something alone where they would fall in love and later in life get married and have babies. Her bringing Elijah to a party that was being populated by people who were mostly her friends in an attempt to open their eyes to the awesomeness that was Elijah Campbell; that wasn’t a date. Right? According to the jerk older Campbell; they had bypassed all other steps and pretty much ensured that there would be wedding bells soon. But Ara didn’t get it. Elias was a wonky weirdo; anyway.
Still; when they got to the venue and he helped her off of his motorcycle [which was an adorable and appreciated; though unnecessary; gesture] Ara couldn’t help but feel like tonight was a little different from most nights they hung out. She was excited and yet nervous. Nervous because there was something about their pairing that seemed to set the whole freakin’ school off. Excited because maybe; just maybe; after they got to experience Elijah themselves and see how much fun they had with each other; all the hysteria would calm down and they could do their thing in peace. With a wide smile; Ara took his arm and; without knowing that he was actually mocking her friends [and indirectly mocking her] she silently praised his efforts as they walked in.
Out of habit; the first place she looked was at the DJ booth because she knew that the table next to it would be filled with the usuals; the people she would have been with sitting where she would have been at if she hadn’t opted to arrive with Elijah. As soon as she lifted her arm to point in that direction; she heard a voice that was unmistakable; Penny. Biting down on her lower lip; Ara’s nervous feeling started to overtake her excited one. She avoided looking in the direction of where the voice had come and watched her sister; KP and those at the DJ’s table- the body language seemed a bit hostile. It wasn’t a good time for her to try and ease Elijah into the mix; she could tell. More so since there was probably a good chance that the ill feelings had stemmed from any problems created by her and Elijah.
Her date companion pulled her from her thoughts when he asked if they should go upstairs- and Ara had to stop herself from groaning. They just got there and she knew that Penny had a habit of making a scene of things. What good was it for them to even come if they were going to want to turn heel immediately because Penny had some sort of bug up her butt about Elijah? “Hmm;” she finally answered before turning towards him; then looking over her shoulder at where she should be sitting; with her family and closest friends [other than Elijah; of course]. Ara realized that Hayden wasn’t there and wondered if it was because of the flyer that him shirtless and lifting weights and. . . or maybe he had something better to do. Like a date. Sighing; she looks back up at Elijah and shrugs a little; “ Or maybe we could. . . I dunno. . .” For a moment she wondered if they; she and Elijah; were that far detached from everyone. Had they isolated themselves that badly to where they couldn’t comfortably hang out with anyone but each other? Those questions were quickly dismissed when she remembered that it wasn’t them with the problem. And with that; her mood brightened and she pulled Elijah into a hug. If everyone elses moods were gonna ruin their chances of getting to know the coolest guy in Eisley; that was their fault. Ara? Well she was gonna have freakin’ fun! She let her arm fall from around him and started moving around slightly to the music; “ Maybe we should get a drink! Come on; you can have one! It’s early in the night. And if it gets out of control- we’ll get a cab or something!” Reaching out; she took a hold of his wrist and started tugging him towards the bar. TAGGED :: you and you and you ! ×××××××× he couldn`t believe this frickin' party had even come to be. he kinda hated it. like.. that little pink flyer had been haunting him for so long. as if he didn`t get enough staring before that damn flyer came out; now, he had girls eye raping him from across the room; or coming to him and asking him to take off his shirt.. WTF? UHM.. SEXUAL HARASSMENT? he could sue.. he probably would`ve.. if... he didn`t have a little part of him that liked the attention. whoa. whoa.. what? hayden; mister humble.. liked the attention? surprised? i know. but while everybody thought he this special guy, he didn`t. he never noticed any attention he got except if it was from sports.. he found that he liked to get attention outside of football or baseball. it felt pretty good. but still! the whole 'take your shirt off' area of that attention.. felt a little.. shameful? embarrassing? probably not the right words. but basically; the attention was great; the sexual harassment? not so much.
it was a shame that it took hayden so long to get ready. mister punctuality usually planned his outfit the day before or woke up a little earlier to pick the outift out. today though, he`d gotten up with the intent to throw anything on.. but after thinking about it for a while, he decided he wanted to switch it up a little and do something different. so he went out and bought himself a while new outfit. he`d admit, in an instant, that it wasn`t something he`d usually wear. but when he saw the pink shirt, something screamed for him to grab it. and the vest was just an added touch he`d already owned. but what about his shoes? he could`ve easily just thrown on some black shoes and called it a night. but! hayden wanted shoes that matched his outfit completely; so he went and got some pink and black vans. then, to top off the outfit, he bought a plain black tie. he threw his bullet belt on and a random necklace and his favorite watch before grabbing his keys and walking out the door.
hayden locked the door behind him and then went straight down to his beloved truck. he rubbed the hood as he made his way over to the drivers side. he loved his truck. it was his most prized possesion. the truck had belonged to his father and, at one time, looked horrible. but hayden still drove it to school everyday. then; for his sixteenth birthday, his bff kieve caine surprised him by fixing up the damn thing. and now; it was his blue wonder. his wonderful, wonderful truck. he smiled a little as he got in and closed the door behind him. he pulled out his cd's and popped in his muse album before pulling out of the parking lot and heading to the party.
he must have been halfway to the party before he remembered he was picking up his close friend, miss jasey rae archer. so hayden turned around and drove, as quickly as he could, to her apartment. and after picking her up; then drove them both to the party. he pulled his blue car into the biggest spot he could find and then got out and helped jasey out. "partyy timee!" he said, grinning and walking into the party.
his eye widened as he heard KP announce a 'thank you' to him and brad. he looked around a little and then walked up the stairs. as he walked, he glanced down towards the bar and almost gave himself whiplash when he saw that miss lebeaux was matching him. he grinned a little and made a mental note to go and grab her up for some hayden/ara time. with that thought in mind; he got all the way up the stairs, gave a quick wave to KP and then made his way over to the VIP table. he greeted tiana lebeax with a hug and then patted brad`s shoulder. "heyy, man." he nodded briefly. "looking good." he said before laughing a little and greeted everybody else at the table.
he glanced at his watch a few times before he sat down and got comfortable; next thing he knew.. some girl had come up to him and asked for a dance. he declined politely then stood up and went down to the bar. greeting other people on the way; when he finally got there, he ordered himself a drink then looked around. a grin crept up onto his face as he saw a whole bunch of pink. he picked up his drink and walked over to it. "ara!" he looked at her companion and smiled. "hey elijah. how`s it going?" he said before looking back at ara and shaking his head a little. " look at us!" he laughed a little and hugged her tight. "matching up a storm!" he took a sip of his drink before putting his hand out to her. "come on. lets go make a pink blur on the dancefloor." he said smiling widely.
