no discrimination of any kind will be tolerated here. that goes for racism, sexism, homophobia--any kind of disrespect targeting a certain group of people. this applies to your characters as well. it might be realistic, but that's one aspect of the real world that doesn't belong here.
respect the staff and your fellow members. treat others how you'd want to be treated. if you have some kind of issue or conflict with any member on this site, please do not publicize it and instead act maturely about it and contact a staff member about it. we're trying to have fun here; leave the drama for your in character posts, please! cyber-bullying will not be tolerated.

your character's application's subject must read as LASTNAME, first middle. if it is anything else, it will be moved to the declined board. no fancy characters or unnecessary parentheses, please. answer all questions in the third person. make sure you meet all the requirements for the application before submitting it to the pending board. you may submit incomplete applications, but there must be [ INC ] in the title; no other symbols/characters will be recognized. you will be given seven days to complete your application after it is posted before it will be moved to the declined board.
the magic words are i'm the mother flippin' rhymenoceros.
until your application has been accepted, you may not post anywhere in character. this means no in character games, even. that being said, please be patient with the staff while your application is pending. the staff try hard to be online often and manage the site and it's not fair that we should get hassled if we've been online for about five minutes and your application still hasn't been accepted. please do not heckle us in the cbox or anywhere else on the site; trust me, we'll get to you.

after being accepted, please change your display name to your character's FULL NAME (no nicknames) in all lowercase. make sure to get an avatar and signature for your character. neither of these images may stretch the page. no pornographic images or anything that goes against proboards' terms of service.
as a member of this board, you can have as many characters as you want. all i ask is that you keep every single one of them active and that there is a little diversity with your characters. that means you can't have four girls and just one boy or three sophomores and one senior. we also encourage creating your own original characters, but please at least consider the canons that are offered. bans will be placed accordingly if these numbers are not equal.
just kidding; the phrase that pays is actually 'rah-rah-rah-ah-ah, rah ma, rah ma ma'.
NO. PERFECT. CHARACTERS. that is all.
just be realistic. this is a real-life based roleplay. we'd like it to sound a bit like real-life. there's enough ridiculous drama in real life. we don't need your character suddenly becoming a witch as well.
any big life changes in any character's life must go through one of the main admins. this includes suicides, deaths in general, pregnancies, abortions and topics such as rape.

unless the thread is still somehow relevant, please do not bring back old threads from months or even weeks ago. also, once you are done with a thread, please indicate so in the thread title (a simple [ FIN ] will suffice) or pm the link to a staff member so that we can lock the thread and add it to the archive.
anything you learn out of character about somebody else's character will stay only in out of character boards until it is mentioned in an in character post. your characters are not psychic and do not know everything; please keep it realistic.
in order to comply with proboards terms of service, we are a PG-13 rated board. of course this is eisley, so there will be all that raunchy stuff, but we cannot have any details or mature threads, so bear that in mind! a short lead-up and polite fade-out should suffice for your purposes if you need to post anything particularly dirty.
speaking of ratings, excessive use of expletives isn't encouraged at all. yes, teenagers can be quite the potty-mouths, but there's really no need to curse in every other sentence, especially when it hurts the flow of your post. try to keep it moderate and clean for the most part or you will be warned.
and just so you know, the real rules phrase is i get high with a little help from my friends.
i'd like to think of this as an advanced-intermediate board. there is an enforced 450 word minimum per post. that being said, please try to match the skill level of your roleplay partners. they're there to inspire you and you have to help inspire them as well. we understand if you have writer's block or aren't getting a great muse or something, but please put a little effort into each post. it can really kill someone's writing mojo if it becomes apparent that people aren't even trying.
do you know what i love? i love correct grammar and correct spelling. now unfortunately, there isn't a grammar check button for the forum, but there is a spell check button. please use it and even still, look over your post--you might have used the incorrect word (homophones are tricky). however, i understand that we're all only human and there will be mistakes (from me too!). just try your best!
under no circumstances will netspeak be tolerated anywhere on this forum. the occasional use of "u" instead of "you" in the cbox is okay, but certainly not encouraged. please avoid it.
god-modding is NOT OKAY. don't do it. the same way you are not psychic, you can't control someone else's character. unless that person has given you permission to take a little liberty with their character's actions, stay away from it. even with permission, please be very careful and moderate with what you choose to do.
posts should be in third-person past tense! just so you know! ;]

punishments will be dealt accordingly to anyone found disobeying the rules. some of the smaller rules can be excused occasionally, but do not expect the staff to turn the other cheek often.
banning will go the same way that baseball does: three strikes and you're out! after your third strike, you will be banned temporarily for a week. after this temporary ban, if you need to be warned again, you will be banned from the site for a month. upon your return, if you mess up again you can expect not to see this site again.
on that note, plagiarism will not be tolerated AT ALL. you have been warned.
